Corinna Carrick is a Partner in the Byrne Wallace Shields Health and Social Care team.
She has extensive experience advising in areas of childcare law, judicial review and public law. She has represented and advised the HSE (now the CFA) in complex and sensitive child protection cases. She has also represented and advised the HSE in the development of the special care jurisdiction in the High Court. She is an experienced advocate, having regularly appeared in the District Court and High Court.
She has a particular expertise and interest in adoption law, having advised in complex domestic and intercountry cases. She was appointed as a board member of the Adoption Authority of Ireland on its establishment and served a five year term. Accordingly, she has developed considerable and substantial insight into adoption law and practice in the State.
