Doireann O’Daly is a partner in the Investment Funds and Financial Services Regulation team.  

She is a trusted advisor for clients in relation to the establishment and ongoing operation of Irish investment funds (including UCITS and AIFs) across the full range of investment strategies and assets classes. With over a decade of experience, she has advised many of the world’s leading asset managers, financial institutions and service providers carrying on business in Ireland or through Irish domiciled vehicles.  She also has extensive experience advising asset managers and Irish service providers in relation to Irish and European regulatory obligations.

Prior to joining Byrne Wallace Shields, Doireann was an investment funds lawyer at leading Irish and international law firms based in Dublin.

Doireann is a member of the Irish Funds ESG Compliance Working Group. She also sits on the Irish 100 Women in Finance Steering Committee.

Experience

  • Lead product lawyer for the Irish fund range of a US asset manager with approximately €180 billion in assets under management.
  • US asset manager on the establishment of their Irish UCITS management company.
  • UK asset manager on the establishment of a QIAIF master / feeder fund structure.
  • Swiss manager on the establishment of an algorithmic trading fund and an Irish Shariah investment fund.
  • UK insurance company on their UCITS money market fund range.

Bachelor of Law with French Law (BCL), University College Dublin, 2011

Certificate in Legal Ethics and Lawyering Skills, 2014

Qualified as a Solicitor, Law Society of Ireland, 2015
