Fergal is a practising solicitor and Chartered Tax Adviser who advises a wide range of domestic and international clients on their domestic tax affairs, including on mergers and acquisitions, corporate reorganisations and establishing a business in Ireland. He also works with individuals and their families, advising them on the tax aspects of succession planning and holding structures for investments. Fergal regularly advises owner‑managed companies and their shareholders on matters such as corporate reorganisation planning and the tax aspects of structuring a business transition.
Experience
- Fergal has significant experience in the following:
- Advising on corporate group reorganisations and the tax treatment of these;
- Acting for clients on the tax aspects of merger and acquisition transactions;
- Providing support to clients in relation to Revenue compliance interventions;
- Advising non-Irish individuals on the tax implications of relocating to Ireland;
- Advising individuals on the tax aspects of succession planning and the tax implications of the transfer of assets to the next generation;
- Advising charities and ‘Not for Profit’ organisations on the obtaining and maintaining of legislative tax concessions for certain charities and tax-exempt bodies;
- Advising on tax issues on complex property transactions and real estate development; and
- Assisting entrepreneurs and existing companies with the tax aspects of establishing a business in Ireland.

- Professional Qualification as a Solicitor in Ireland, Law Society of Ireland, 2019
- Admitted as a Solicitor in England and Wales (non-practising), Law Society of England & Wales, 2020
