Peter O’Reilly is a partner in the Byrne Wallace Shields LLP Property and Real Estate team.
Peter has extensive experience acting in a wide range of commercial property transactions for a variety of clients including the acquisition and disposal of development land and the sale, purchase, leasing and financing of various types of commercial and residential property.
Peter’s clients include property developers, international and domestic investors, energy companies, corporate and high net worth clients, nursing home and childcare providers and financial institutions.
Peter also has considerable experience acting for financial institutions and alternative lenders in secured lending transactions, including development finance and commercial property finance. He also advises corporate and high net worth clients on the property aspects of secured lending transactions.
Peter advises financial institutions on loan restructures and enforcement and works closely with receivers and other service providers in the realisation of secured assets. He also acts for corporate and investor clients across a wide variety of commercial property and property development transactions.
Prior to joining Byrne Wallace Shields, Peter worked in-house for one of the country’s main financial institutions.
Experience
- Acted for international funds in the acquisition and financing of portfolios of multi-let properties and advising on an ongoing basis on all property related matters to include disposals, commercial and residential lettings and planning and development matters.
- Advised clients on the acquisition and development of housing schemes and the forward sale of those schemes to local authorities and Approved Housing Bodies.
- Advises clients, both landlords and tenants, in commercial and office leasing transactions.
- Advising domestic and internation clients on property aspects of renewable energy transactions.
- Advising clients across a wide variety of commercial property matters including the sale, purchase, and leasing of commercial property.
- Acted for a number of major financial institutions in secured lending transactions with particular focus on property finance including development finance and commercial property transactions.
- Acted on behalf of a number of banks in the negotiation and implementation of loan restructures and debt settlement arrangements.
- Advised financial institutions on enforcement options in distressed loan scenarios including carrying out comprehensive title and security reviews, appointment of receivers, liquidators and examiners, and issuing of injunctive and summary judgment proceedings.
