Legal Executive - Litigation & Regulation

We are currently seeking a Legal Executive to join our Litigation & Regulation team. We would like to hear from you if you have the following experience:

  • Download of new matters/changes in existing matters each morning and upload of actions taken by Byrne Wallace on all files electronically via Revenue’s RFTS System;
  • Processing payment of recoverable and non-recoverable outlays; processing payments from debtors, assisting with the reconciliation of the Revenue client account; preparation of monthly statements in accordance with finance protocols;
  • Dealing with debt queries, the application of payments and the delivery of invoices and reports to client as required.
  • Checking the Revenue Enforcement Service (“RES”) for any changes in instructions at Revenue's side as required.
  • Liaising with client as required by the supervising Solicitor.
  • Taking instructions from solicitors and liaising with the client or 3rd party Solicitors in relation to queries. 
  • Progression of Revenue debt recovery proceedings in District, Circuit and High Court
  • Provide support for all administration tasks as required, including photocopying, filing of documents.
  • Ensure all time is recorded in Axxia – both chargeable & non chargeable.
  • General handling of files post completion. 
  • Risk Management - comply with all of the Firm's policies & procedures and the Firm's Handbook for collection of Revenue Debt; attend risk briefings & support Firm-wide risk management initiatives. Adhere to the file opening, file review and closure process and ensure all open and in-active matters are reviewed and closed as appropriate. Support the implementation of the Firm's LEXCEL System.
  • Information Security - Support implementation of the Firms Information Security Management and comply with the Firms Information Security Statement

i. Adhere to data classifications and handling rules
ii. Report Breach of Policy, Incident or Security Weakness 
iii. Comply with the ISMS-04 User’s Information Security Policy Statements

  • Additional - Staff may be requested to carry out such reasonable tasks as may from time to time occur

Requirements:

Suitable candidates will be able to demonstrate:

  • A minimum of 3 years debt recovery experience, acting for large financial institutions/banks/state or public bodies would be an advantage. 
  • Strong IT and numerical skills. 
  • Proficiency in Excel. 
  • Financial acumen
  • An ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Very good communications and interpersonal skills.
  • A high level motivation, project management skills and an ability to act on one’s own initiative.
