BCM Hanby Wallace announces alliance with leading law firm in Northern Ireland

Wednesday, 30 September 2009

BCM Hanby Wallace (now Byrne Wallace Shields LLP as of 1 March 2010) – one of Ireland’s leading business law firms – has formed an alliance with Mills Selig (www.millsselig.com), a pre-eminent business law firm in Northern Ireland. The new alliance means that the two firms will be able to offer a seamless “all-Ireland legal service” to existing and new clients.

Paul McGennis, Managing Partner of Byrne Wallace Shields LLP, said that the new alliance reflected the increased requirement for firms in both jurisdictions to offer services to their business clients across the whole island: “the proportion of both firms’ work which requires support in both jurisdictions has increased significantly over the past decade and will do so again as the two economies become increasingly entwined. This alliance means that we can form a close relationship with Mills Selig and offer a seamless service to business clients.”

John Kearns, managing partner of Mills Selig, believes that the alliance is “an exciting venture between two firms sharing a similar philosophy of providing their clients with high quality and proactive legal advice. This alliance will enable both firms to better meet our clients’ needs as we will be able to offer a fully integrated legal service in Ireland, north and south.”

The firms have agreed to work together through the alliance to develop appropriate business opportunities with new and existing clients.
