Byrne Wallace Shields LLP speaks on AI at Irish Canadian Business Association Summit

Thursday, 28 May 2026
Head of Litigation and General Counsel, Jon Legorburu was pleased to speak at this year's biennial Irish Canadian Business Association Summit at Iveagh House this week.
The Summit marks a seminal moment in Irish-Canadian business relations, solidifying new opportunities for deeper economic partnership across the Atlantic.

Speaking alongside Karina Doorley of the ESRI, author of a recent report on Artificial Intelligence and income inequality in Ireland, Jon discussed the prescience of aligning Irish and Canadian business interests around the question of EU digital sovereignty following the proposed CADA framework. The panel also explored the implications for businesses seeking to apply US-built RAG tools to Irish legal queries, given their high hallucination rates in an Irish legal context.
