Byrne Wallace Shields LLP host coffee morning in support of Dress For Success and International Women’s Day

Wednesday, 08 March 2017

To mark International Women’s Day on Wednesday 8 March, the team at Byrne Wallace Shields LLP organised a clothing collection and coffee morning in support of Dress for Success Dublin, a not-for-profit initiative which aims to promote economic independence of women by providing them with career development tools and a support network.

Since 2011, Dress for Success Dublin has supported over 1,400 women with interview coaching, appropriate work and interview clothing, and the skills and development opportunities they need to secure employment. To date 57% of the women who have availed of their services have secured employment, with 75% either now working or in further training and education.

Commenting on the event and staff initiative, Managing Partner Catherine Guy said, “As a firm, we are committed to fostering a working environment that values diversity of background, experience and gender at all levels of the organisation. We are proud that over 65% of our total workforce are female and in particular that this ratio is consistent across senior levels of the firm with female colleagues accounting for over 60% of our partners and senior lawyers.

“We are delighted to be able to support Dress for Success Dublin and the excellent  work they do in  helping women to secure employment and achieve economic independence.”
