Byrne Wallace Shields LLP is delighted to be advising Iberdrola Ireland on its entry into the Irish domestic energy market. Iberdrola Ireland is now supplying 100% green electricity products to Irish customers. Byrne Wallace Shields LLP has advised on the Irish legal and regulatory issues relevant to Iberdrola’s entry to the market.
Iberdrola is one of the world’s largest energy utilities and a world leader in wind generation. Globally, the Iberdrola group supplies electricity to approximately 100 million customers. In neighbouring Scotland, England and Wales, Iberdrola operates as ScottishPower, producing only 100% renewably sourced electricity.
Iberdrola will add natural gas and dual fuel products to its Irish market offering later this year.
The Byrne Wallace Shields LLP team who advised on Iberdrola’s market entry was led by Zelda Deasy (Senior Associate Corporate), and Martin Cooney (Partner and Head of Construction)
