MDM and Orange Joint Venture to fund and develop PISCES Cable System

Byrne Wallace Shields LLP is delighted to have advised MDM, a specialist developer of subsea telecommunications infrastructure, on a strategically significant joint venture established to fund and develop the PISCES Cable System, a new trans-European subsea telecommunications cable connecting Ireland, France, Spain, and Portugal.
Developed by MDM and backed by the EU Connecting Europe Facility (CEF) Digital programme, the project brings together leading infrastructure and telecommunications investors and operators, including ISIF-backed Equitix and global telecommunications operator Orange, to deliver a high-capacity, open-access fibre network designed to strengthen European connectivity, resilience and future data growth.
The transaction was led by Seanna Mulrean and Karen Outram, and supported by a multidisciplinary team throughout the firm.
